The IntimaLase laser procedure is the newest, minimally invasive laser treatment for vaginal laxity. The laxity of vaginal muscles occurs on account of physiological changes, menopause, pregnancy and after childbirth. Laxity of vaginal walls occurs in conjunction with the loss of muscle tone, stretched tissues. Weak vaginal muscles cause less stimulation, since there is no friction during sexual intercourse, reducing satisfaction in sexual life. Clinical studies related to Fotona IntimaLase laser treatment have shown 83% satisfaction and 90% improved sexual activity.
IntimaLase procedures are carried out with the Fotona SP Dynamis laser system, using the 2940nm Er:YAG laser in Smooth Mode. In the Smooth Mode, the laser system safely radiates heat energy to the vagina, pelvic ligaments and mucous membrane. The thermal energy initiates the production of new collagen. At the same time, the existing tissue fibers become shorter and contract, resulting in improved vaginal muscle tone and sensitivity during intercourse.
The procedure consists of two stages: first, a special nozzle is inserted into the vagina and the entire vaginal wall is treated, then the nozzle is replaced and the front space of the vagina is treated with a laser beam. It is advised to repeat the procedure 2 or 3 times with an interval of one month. Recovery is quick, it is recommended to avoid sexual intercourse, taking a bath, going to the swimming pool and spa for 3 days.
