The Fotopeel procedure consists of two stages - IPL photo-rejuvenation and chemical exfoliation. Combining these two effective procedures ensures even better results in skin rejuvenation and care.
What are the indications for the Fotopeel procedure?
- Pigment spots
- Redness of the skin
- Uneven skin tone
- Enlarged pores
- Laxity of the skin
- Superficial wrinkles
- Aging skin
What does the Fotopeel procedure look like?
The photopeel procedure begins with IPL photorejuvenation, which reduces pigment spots and redness while stimulating collagen production and tightening the skin. Then acid is applied to the skin. The effect depends on the acid used: the skin can be renewed and skin surface smoothed, inflammatory processes can be reduced, pigment spots can be bleached and the complexion made more even.
This results in smoother and brighter skin, reduced redness and pigment spots.
When will I see the results of the Fotopeel procedure and how long will it take to recover?
The final result will be visible after 3 or 4 weeks.
Recovery takes about 1 week. Redness and a slight burning sensation is normal after the procedure and will disappear in a few hours. In the following week, the skin may be drier and pigment crusts may develop on the skin. We advise you to nourish and moisturize the skin during this time.
Fotopeel pretreatment guidelines:
- Contraindications include antibiotic treatment (2 weeks must have passed since taking the last medication), chronic inflammations in the body, active herpes, freshly tanned skin (at least 2-4 weeks must have passed since tanning, depending on the skin tone, and self-tanning creams must not have been used 2 weeks before coming for the procedure), oncological diseases, epilepsy and melasma.
- We do not perform the procedure during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Stop using creams which contain retinol or other active ingredients 3 days before the procedure.
- Dark hairs in the area to be treated must be shaved off a day before or on the day of the procedure.
Care guidelines after the procedure:
- Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours after the procedure.
- Avoid going to the sauna and swimming for 2 weeks after the procedure.
- Use SPF50 sun screen cream for 2 weeks.
- Use a skin recovery cream (such as Burnshield, Cicabio, Bepanthen or similar) to restore the skin and reduce the burning sensation until recovery of the skin.
- Keep a cold compress on the skin (not a compress taken from the freezer) to alleviate the feeling of hotness
- Avoid other facial procedures in 2 weeks after the procedure.
